What is Mud mold

What is Mud mold? Master Unit Die mold is the full name of MUD mold, it includes mold insert and mold frame, the inserts can share one standard frame. Usually we only need to make MUD mold insert. It saves time and money. That is why the lead time shorter and the cost lower. 

It is faster to install and remove from molding machine than general mold. MUD mold is the best choice for replacement or changeable inserts mold.

MUD Quick-Change adapter frames and companion ear plates are available in six standard sizes. 

Notes: The use of “slides” or “cams” is not unusual if the part design includes an undercut that requires molding. Slides and cams are moving parts within the mold that allow or restrict access to particular areas within the tooling (and thus facilitate the desired shape of the part). The use of slides or cams can facilitate ejection of certain areas of plastic that might otherwise be trapped in the tooling.

There is also less down time if the MUD mold is ever removed for modification or repair. If the insert mold must be out for a long period, a replacement can be easily installed and the machine back in production within five minutes.
